CM Dr PAWAN CHAMLING VISIT PANDAM GADI

PEMDAM/GANGTOK,1 DEc. The Chief Minister Pawan Chamling visited the Pandam Gari kali Mandir and offered his prayers on 29th November 2010. The Chief Minister was here to attend the eleven days long Maha Shiva Puran which is being held since 22nd of November.He was accompanied by the Speaker, SLAS, K.T.Gyaltshen, Minister Bhim dhungel and CB Karki besides others. The Chief Minister was well received by Minister Neeru Sewa who is also the Area MLA of the constituency. Pandam Gari Kali Mandir is situated at an altitute of 5837 ft above sea level. Addressing the gathering of devotees at the Pandam Gari kali Mandir, the Chief Minister announced to construct the Kali Mandir and a statue of Goddess kali which will be one of its kind in India, he said. Besides that the Chief Minister also declared to develop the area as a hand gliding spot and rock climbing spot. He also assured to construct a view point tower at the place from where view of Gangtok can be seen. Further more the Chief Minister said that in order to develop this place as a tourist destination proper road connectivity is essential for which the cooperation of the local people is required, he said. He also assured to solve the problem of drinking water which is being faced by the people of the area. In his address which was centered mostly towards religion and tourism, he said that the government is giving due respect to all the religions, religious practices and festivals in the state. The government is putting its all effort to develop Sikkim as a major tourist destinations and now it is the people of the state who have to be capable enough to reap the fruit. The religious infrastructure developed in the state should be used for promoting tourism in the state, he said. The Chief Minister highlighted various religious projects initiated by the government through out the state for the development of tourism. Sikkim can be developed as a major pilgrimage tourism spot of the country, he said. On the way to Kali Mandir the Chief Minister also visited Kedareswar Sivalaya Mandir at karmithang and offered his prayers. He assured financial aid to the Mandir Committee for the completion of the Mandir. Earlier Miss Neeru Sewa during her address talked about the historical and religious importance of the place and placed the public proposal to develop the place as a tourist destination. With its historical and religious importance, construction of Kali Mandir at this place will help in the development of tourism in the Pandam area, she said.(DIO / EAST)

SPARK NGO educates public on HIV and AIDS SINGTAM: SPARK, a local NGO from Singtam observed World Aids Day today with an AIDS awareness campaign educating the general public of Singtam On the occasion, the members of SPARK interacted with the common people on the streets of Singtam; distributed pamphlets and posters. More than 280 red ribbons were tied by the members of the NGO to the general public. Speaking on the occasion, Praveen Pradhan, President SPARK told that, entire globe is fighting against this dreaded disease and if we can contribute in educating people about AIDS it can be a significant contribution. Most of our members in SPARK are youth and we believe we too have our role to play for better society and healthy Sikkim, he added. SPARK members also attended the Aids day program held at Marwari Dharamsala organized by VHAS. Nangshel Sherpa, Vice President of SPARK NGO went on to say such educating program should not be limited to a particular day and everybody should have a responsibility to make a better tomorrow. GRAM VIKASH SANGATHAN (NGO) 4th RURAL FOOTBALL WINTER CAMP- 2011 10th to 26th January 2011 RULES AND REGULATIONS :- 1. The Rural Football Winter Camp 2011 shall be organized from 10th to 26th January 2011.The main aim of the camp is to promote and uplift the standard of football game and to search for the hidden talents of young footballers of Sikkim State. 2 The camp shall be a fully residential camp (for Boys) and participants are not allowed to stay outside except Girls participant.. 3. The venue of the camp shall be at T. N. Sr. Sec. School Ground, Central Pendam, East Sikkim. 4. The participants have to pay a sum of Rs. 500.00(Five hundred) + 1 Football or Rs 800-only as a registration fee For Boys and 400+1 football to the organization during the submission of form. 5. The camp is especially meant for junior boys and Girls aged between 13 to 15 years. 6 All the participants should submit their attested photocopy of Birth Certificate along with form. The original Date of Birth Certificate should be produced during registration at the time of Camp by their respective guardians. 7. All the participants should bring their bedding, plates, mug, spoon and football kits such as jersey, stocking, and football boots, warming up shoes, Track suit, slippers and warm cloths. 8.If a participant found misbehaving or disobeying the rules and regulation of the camp he shall be suspended and sent out from camp and the fee deposited shall not be return back. 9.During camp, apart from football coaching, counseling with yoga and moral education shall be given to the participants. 10. Participant shall not be allowed to use mobile phones, ring, neck chain, wallets etc. during the camp. 11 The last date of submission of the filled forms is 6th January 2011 at GVS Football Academy, Central Pendam. पाण्डाम, 10 जनवरी। मध्ये पाण्डाम टीकालाल निरौला उच्चतर माध्यमिक स्कूलको खेल मैदानमा आजदेखि 15 दिवसीय फूटबल खेल प्रशिक्षण शिविर शुरु भएको छ। सिक्किम फूटबल एसोसिएशनका अध्यक्ष टेम्पो भोटियाले शिविरको उद्घाटन गरे। यसअवसरमा डुगा खण्ड विकास अधिकारी पी. प्रधान, जिल्ला पञ्चायत सदस्य डीबी सिलाल, आहु पञ्चायत सभापति तारा शर्मा, भूतपूर्व जिल्ला पञ्चायत सदस्य प्रेमकिरण प्रधान, डुगा स्कूलका प्रधानाचार्य डीबी छेत्री, लगायत शिक्षक-शिक्षिकाको उपस्थिति रहेको थियो। कार्यक्रमलाई सम्बोधन गर्दै सिक्किम फूटबल एसोसिएशनका अध्यक्ष टेम्पो भोटियाले प्रशिक्षणार्थी विद्यार्थीलाई खेलसॅंग पढाईमा पनि ध्यान दिनुपर्ने आह्वान गरे। विद्यार्थीलाई पढ्ने समय र खेल्न समय सुनिश्चित गरेर समयको सदुपयोग गर्नुपर्ने बताए। उनले, विद्यार्थीहरूलाई खेललाई विकसित गर्न आफ्नो तर्फबाट प्रयास हुनुपर्छ भनी बताउँदै सिक्किममा खेलको भविष्य राम्रो छ भनी बताए। विशेषगरि फूटबल खेलको भविष्य उज्जवल रहेक बताउँदै यसका निम्ति आवश्यक पूर्वाधारहरूको विकास गर्न राज्य सरकार तथा एसएफएले पनि सङ्घर्ष गरिरहेको बताए। उनले गान्तोकको पाल्जर स्टेडियममा कृतिम घॉंस लगाउने, गार्डस् ग्राउण्डलाई अझ विकसित गरिने तथा गान्तोक नजिक भएको खेल गाउँ पनि निर्माण कार्य पूरा हुन लागेको बताउँदै सिक्किम राज्यको खेल पूर्वाधारहरू विकसित हुने संघारमा छन् र यसको फायदा उठाउन नव खेल प्रतिभाहरूलाई तयार रहनु पर्ने बताए। यसै गरी कार्यक्रमलाई सम्बोधन गर्दै खण्ड विकास अधिकारी पी प्रधानले प्रशिक्षणार्थी विद्यार्थीले खेललाई आफ्नो पेशाको रूपमा अप्नाएर गाउँ, घर, राज्य र देशको निम्ति खेल्नका निम्ति तयार हुनु पर्ने आह्वान गरे। ग्राम विकास सङ्गठन पाण्डामद्वारा आयोजन गरिने यस शिविरलाई निरन्तरता दिइरहने पर्ने उनले सङ्गठनलाई सुझाउ दिए। कार्यक्रममा सङ्गठनका अध्यक्ष जीआर गुरगाईंले स्वागत जनाएका थिए भने ग्राम विकास फूटबल अकादमीका प्रभारी जिग्मी भोटियाले ग्रामीण फूटबल प्रशिक्षण शिविरबारे जानकारी गराए। यस शिविरमा राज्यका तीन जिल्लाबाट 12 देखि 14 वर्षसम्मका बाल-बालिकाले भाग लिएका छन्। 45 अधिक प्रशिक्षणार्थीहरू मध्ये दुइ जना महिला प्रशिक्षणार्थी पनि सामेल छन्।
